Text

My dear little Jessie

I have been wanting to write to you for a long time but I have been so busy I could not.
What did Santa Claus bring you Christmas? You ought to have been here to see the things little Marjorie Brown got. There were three teas sets, four dolls, a ring, a bracelet, a little set of furs, and ever so many more that I can't remember.
She took dinner with me last Saturday, and after we had finished we blew soap-bubbles. She spent most of her time, however, rubbing the soap off her spool. Her little brother can almost walk now, and he says several little words.
Do you read as much as ever?Uncle Ed told me that you had a tricycle X'mas. Do you like to ride on it? I had one when I was nine years old but it became too small for me so Uncle Ed and I took it to Kathleen and Jeannette when we went up there last X'mas. Now, I have a bicycle, but it is broken. I used to ride it to school every morning and I enjoyed it so much. I am trying to get it mended so I can ride it again, but there is no one here that knows how to mend it.Marjorie and Edward have a little white goat and a little wagon. The goat is on very intimate terms. The other day I heard some one walking through the house and I thought it was Edward, but when I looked around I saw Gyp, the goat, walk into the room and then out the front door. He thinks he belongs in the house.Marjorie said to give her Cousin Ed lots of love and to him for her. She fell in love with him and talks about him a great deal.
Give my love and a kiss to Papa, Mama, Uncle Ed, Margaret, and Nellie and tell Nellie I will write to her as soon as I can.

Aunt Maggie.
